Bourgeoisie Anarchy

This is a collaboration project with Menswear students. Our theme is ‘Bourgeoisie Anarchy’, taking inspiration from the 1970s CBGBs punk scene and 17th century court dress. The knitwear is taken inspiration from the 17th century puffy shape sleeves, using holding technique with elastic to make the knit forms sculpturally itself. Using punchcard pattern with the contrasted thickness of yarns give an effect of the 17th quilted texture surface. The body part shape is looser rather than fitted like a 17th style, it was inspired by the punk t-shirt.  Also, metal details were added to give a punky sense.
